  On the noon of Nov. 15th, the garden party to popularize law was held in the Leave Street. It was mainly sponsored by the Media Department of the Students’ Union, cooperating with the Administration Department, Sports Department, Academic Department, Public Relations Department, Literary Department, Voluntary Department and Organization Department, which was specially designed for all the students and teachers in SUFE. The aim of the activity was to popularize knowledge of law essential in daily life with a professional attitude and colorful formations.

  The activity began at 11:45. There were seven specially designed booths for games in line, each of which belonged to a department in the Students’ Union. The games covered all kinds of knowledges including common knowledge of law, network security, transportation safety, food safety, legal provision, TV shows and current affairs related to law. Many candidates passed four games and had the chance to draw a lottery and some even got through all the games. All of them built up their knowledge of law in the course of games. There was one student who was so lucky to be the outstanding winner and won a ticket for the Happy Valley, some other gifts like desk calendar, night light were also given to candidates. What was more, every candidate could get a beautiful postcard. The activity gave students a chance to learn more about law and attracted many people.

  At 18:30, Professor Xiaozhe Zhu delivered a lecture about the civil problem in the network age in the 3rd lecture theater. He gave a detailed explanation about the online shopping, APP, internet infringement and internet finance. His speech covered from the effective time of the online trading contract to responsibility allocation of the taxi APP and the taxi drivers, from the online information leakage to the distinguish of the tort of network financing institution, from the principles and phenomenon to the counterplan, using the related articles of law and the cases of law happened online these years. The lecture not only discussed about domestic articles of law and cases, but also compared domestic law with foreign law and forecast the tendency of laws and regulations. Professor Zhu introduced several law principles and sentence cases with the common problems college students faced in their online life and other related problems, teaching us how to use the law as a weapon in the internet world. After the speech, candidates asked many questions and Professor Zhu answered them patiently. The lecture ended with a big applause.

  This Garden Party is one of the series activities designed for all the teachers and students to popularize common practice of law and knowledge. It not only makes students in law school know more about the meaning of combining theory with practice and the advantage of law, but also helps to improve students’ legal awareness so they can use law to protect themselves and lead a wonderful college life.
