Recently released was the list of 6th batch of Shanghai municipal government’s Thousand Talents program, which was approved by the Organization Department of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee. Professor Mitchell, recommended by SUFE Law School, was selected to join the Innovative Talents Program (Long Term). It is another success that after Professor Poustie, as recruited experts by SUFE Law School, was selected into the Innovative Talents Program (Long Term) of the 5th batch of “Thousand Talents Program” of Shanghai in 2015.

Short Introduction to Prof Ezra Wasserman Mitchell

Professor Ezra Wasserman Mitchell (other used name Lawrence E. Mitchell, U.S. Citizenship) graduated from Columbia University, former Law School Dean of Case Western Reserve University, and Legal Professor of Joseph Hostetler-Baker & Hostetler, is a famous legal expert in corporate law and international finance law. His research interests are mainly corporate governance & social responsibility, especially the function of board and shareholders, including research on the vitality degree of hedge fund and sovereign wealth fund. He has published 17 papers in SSCI (4 papers in first area and 9 papers in second area).

Since Sept. 2016, Pro Mitchell joins in Law School and works full-time. Less than half year, he has quickly integrated into teams at university and school, started highly effective work, and offered English courses titled American & British Contract Law for undergraduates from Common Law Certificate Program, and the English course titled Study on Civil Law for master students and overseas PhDs.

Short Introduction to Prof Mark Poustie

(Selected into the Innovative Talents Program Long Term of the 5th batch of “Thousand Talents Program” of Shanghai)

Professor Mark Poustie (British Citizenship) graduated from the University of Edinburgh, former Vice-Dean (Internationalization) for the faculty of humanities and social sciences, and Dean for Law School of University of Strathclyde. He is a famous expert in environmental law. Professor Poustie has extensive experience teaching and researching in the fields of environmental law, land law, urban planning law and EU law, with domestic and international influence. He is also an active social activist, who acted in government’s environmental policymaking.

Professor Poustie was appointed as an Oriental Scholar at Shanghai University of Finance & Economics in 2013, and join in Law School in fulltime. He offered courses on international environmental law, environmental law and EU law. Professor Poustie will supervise to organize “the Research Center for International Environmental Law” in SUFE, and help Law School to develop environmental law disciplines into international stage, and improve its global influence.

Program of Introducing High-level Overseas Talents in Shanghai

(Shanghai “Thousand Talents Program”)

According to “Suggestions by Shanghai Municipality About Implementing the Program of Introducing High-level Overseas Talents” (Shanghai Municipal Party Committee Office issued〔2010〕No.28), the first batch of program of introducing High-level Overseas Talents with which the local “Thousand Talents Program” was started up in 2010. According to the program, the municipality will bring in a batch of high-level urgently needed talents from aboard within 5-10 years, in line with the major national development strategies and major local development strategic objectives; About 20-30 Municipal Bases of Innovation and Enterprise Pioneering for High-Level Overseas Talents will be established in the eligible enterprises, universities, research institutes and industrial or technological parks, as a result of which a platform has been set up on which the high-level overseas talents can start their own businesses.
