On the afternoon of 13th May, Appointment Ceremony for Counselor of the FTA’s Nomocracy Research Society of Shanghai Law Society, Appointment Ceremony for Part-time Professor of SHUFE Law and “FTA Law Development” Forum held in the SHUFE Law School Room 211, the ceremonies hosted by Sheng Leiming, the vice chairman of ACLA (All China Lawyers Association).
The chairman of Hong Kong Bar Association Tan Yunzhi, the vice chairman of Hong Kong Bar Association Lin Dingguo, the executive member of Hong Kong Bar Association Wang Mingfeng, who are Senior Counsels as well, and the chairman of Hong Kong Bar Association Greater China Affairs Committee Mai Yecheng, all are employed as counselors of FTA’s Nomocracy Research Society of Shanghai Law Society and part-time professors of Shufe Law. The Executive Vice President of Shanghai Law Society Lin Guoping and the Secretary General Mao Jianping, the Minister of Law Department of The Liaison Office Wang Zhenmin and the Vice Minister Yu Xuejie, the President Assistant of SHUFE Professor Zheng Shaohua, the Dean of SHUFE Law Li Xueyao and some staff and representatives of the teaching staff attended the ceremonies.
The President Assistant of SHUFE and the President of the FTA’s Nomocracy Research Society of Shanghai Law Society, the Professor Zheng Shaohua delivered the welcoming speech at the beginning. In the speech, he firstly introduced the FTA’s Nomocracy Research Society of Shanghai Law Society and major works of the Center of FTA Law Research of SHUFE, and introduced the education of SHUFE Law’s Common Law Certificate Class meanwhile, he expected the students can study more knowledge from Hong Kong barristers after employing them as counselors of the FTA’s Nomocracy Research Society and part-time professors of SHUFE Law. Professor Zheng also expected Hong Kong barristers employed would offer more guidance for talent cultivation of Common Law.
Tan Yunzhi expressed that it’s a honour but also a responsibility to be a consultant of the FTA Law Research Society of Shanghai Law Society and a part-time professor of SHUFE Law, hoping to keep a close contact with them and to provide intellectual support for the Society and common law education for the future.
Wang Zhenmin, the minister of legal department of LOCPG, concluded the forum. He highly appraised the improvement of SHUFE LAW in recent years, and impressed his congratulations to SHUFE Law’s appointment these yearsand congratulate the successful appointment of four HK barristers to strengthen FTA’s nomocracy and the manpower of research and teaching of common law education. The development of HK nomocracy and free trade is ahead of the Mainland, if the Mainland’s universities and colleges can learn from HK often and cooperate with each other, both sides will have a brilliant future together.
After the Appointment Ceremony, the guests made an in-depth discussion on FTA’s nomocracy and common law education, and the two sides have reached an agreement that they would form a mechanism of regular communication exchange in the future communication and cooperation.
