LL.M. Program

On October 29, 2019, Professor Komatsu, Dean of Kobe University School of Law, visited. Law School of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. The meeting was held in Conference Room 211 of the Law Building. Professor Song Xiaoyan, Dean of Law School of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Vice Dean Professor GE Weijun, Assistant Dean Xu Jian, teacher Wang Yuhuan and Foreign Affairs Secretary Huang Qian attended the meeting.

On behalf of the Law School, Professor Song Xiaoyan extended a warm welcome to Professor Komatsu's visit. Professor Komatsu thanked our school for the invitation and introduced the international work of Kobe University Law School and the academic exchanges between individuals and China. In addition to the general Japanese courses, the Kobe University School of Law also offers an all-English course program, which focuses on the theory and practice of international commercial law. The course invites professors and lawyers to teach, including Japanese and international students.

Professor GE Weijun, Associate Dean, introduced the basic situation of the law school to Professor Komatsu, including the current number of students, the faculty, the all-English program, and the student exchange program, and put forward ways for future cooperation, including co-holding international conferences, short-term student exchanges, and teacher exchange visits. Professor Komatsu also pointed out that the history and background of Kobe University Law School and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Law School are very similar, and the joint promotion of cooperation projects between the two sides is of great significance to both universities. Professor Komatsu is looking forward to establishing a close cooperative relationship with our college.

Talking about personal exchanges with China, Professor Komatsu mentioned that he often participates in the International Conference on Administrative Law in East Asia co-organized by Japan, South Korea, the Chinese mainland, and Taiwan, and hopes to discuss administrative law issues with professors in our institute in the future. Subsequently, the two sides exchanged views on some hot topics in the field of administrative law, including the nature of the administrative agreement, the revision of the administrative punishment law, the establishment of the punishment system for breach of faith, and the new problems faced in the field of administrative law in the digital age. The talks ended in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
